Survival: The Economy
1st World Concerns:
Families are forced to purchase all of their basic needs instead of producing them, driving their cost of living higher than their forefathers on the farms, requiring more money to survive than is possible to generate, giving rise to a lucrative new industry: Lending
- Mortgages
- Credit Cards
- Pay-Day Loans
- School Loans
- Wedding Debt
People live from paycheck to paycheck, barely able to make minimum payments towards their debt. Fearful of any unforeseen interruption in their “gainful employment” a second new lucrative industry was born: Insurance
- Mortgage Insurance
- Disability Insurance
- Social Security
- Medical Insurance
- Car Insurance
- Home Owner’s Insurance
- Unemployment Insurance
The majority of people are focused on “making money” instead of living their lives. They are not problem solving world issues or developing their greatest life purpose which keeps the world in a negative spiral.
3rd World Concerns:
The world economy is set up like a game with each man, woman, and child a competitor for their basic needs.
- Limited access to food
- Limited access to clean water
- Limited access to housing
If they can’t play the game very well, become ill, or fall behind, they don’t eat and neither do their children.
Screening Question:
Does it improve poverty?
