We All Need Love!
Whether paralyzed or motivated by competition, it doesn’t matter. You are expected to serve the workforce faithfully. So you do what is expected and you are exposed to further damage. The reward of your paycheck, healthcare benefits and, one day, retirement is all you will get. Not love. Love is not in the benefits package.
Recognition (love and appreciation) is the number one thing employees wish their managers would give them to inspire them to produce great work. Nothing else comes close when it comes to motivating people to work harder—not even higher pay, promotion, autonomy or training. Yet statistics show that bosses simply won’t give appreciation. They don’t know how. Perhaps they are as emotionally deprived as everyone else.
